How does it work? Those are cars that shift automatically, not with the standard stick shift. P is Park, D is Drive, N is Neutral, and R is Reverse. Auto parts : Breather Filter Acura 1995 . What would you do? Repair the car or buy a replacement vehicle? One mechanic says he suspects my '94 Toyota has a bad head gasket. He says that repair will cost $2,000 (but he could be inflating that price). I have owned the car for only a few months. I bought it cheap but I'm a student and this repair cost will be very hard on me. I can't afford to buy anything but another super-cheap car to replace this one and I'm afraid I'll just buy something else with huge problems. How more I am armed, the more I get provided with safety things, I get more scared of things. Not that I mean I get scared, the feeling just get's bigger. I can't remember the last time I was scared of anything, but that is out of question. My point is, who has this too? The more armed you are (Like as in guns, weaponsticks, etc.) and the more safety you get provided of (Extra locks, extra attachments to the costume you wear, like if you go skydiving or bungeejumping) the more afraid I get something might go wrong. Is it just me, or are there more of this kind? I live in Europe, were it is illegal to have guns, thank god. I would not know what to do with the American Gun Addiction. Everybody a gun, only the idea sounds stupid already. So I do not have any weapons. If there is a burglar in my house I'll take it down with something hard in my room. Scion . How to Replace the Fuel Filter on a 1994 Mitsubishi EclipseThe 1994 Mitsubishi Eclipse comes equipped with a canister fuel filter. The fuel travels from the gas tank and enters the canister fuel filter. Any sediments from the fuel will become trapped inside the filter. The clean fuel then travels into the fuel injectors and into the engine. The fuel filter on the 1994 Mitsubishi Eclipse should be replaced between 30,000 and 50,000 miles, as recommended by Mitsubishi. Difficulty:Moderate Instructions Things You'll Need Adjustable wrench Fuel catch pan 12-mm open end wrench 14-mm open end wrench New fuel filter Step by Step : 1 Park the 1994 Mitsubishi Eclipse on a even surface and set the parking brake so that the Eclipse does not move. 2 Remove the gas cap from the gas tank to relieve the gas pressure off of the fuel filter. 3 Open the hood and remove the battery cables from the battery with an adjustable wrench. Remove the battery from the engine compartment. This will give you the room needed to replace the fuel filter. 4 Locate the fuel filter in the rear of the engine compartment on the drivers side. The fuel filter is a round black canister that has a fuel line coming out of the top of the fuel filter and a fuel line coming out of the bottom of the fuel filter. Slide the fuel catch pan underneath the Eclipse directly under the fuel filter. 5 Remove the bottom fuel line from the fuel filter with a 12-mm open end wrench. Turn the bottom fuel line counterclockwise to loosen the fuel line. Finish unscrewing the fuel line with your fingers. Let the bottom fuel line hang down toward the catch pan to catch the small amount of excess gas in the fuel line. 6 Remove the top fuel line from the fuel filter with a 14-mm wrench. Turn the top fuel line counterclockwise to loosen the fuel line. Finish unscrewing the top fuel line with your fingers. Let the top fuel line hang down toward the catch pan. 7 Remove the fuel filter from the engine compartment. Put the old fuel filter in the catch pan. 8 Slide the new fuel filter into the engine compartment with the flow arrow on the side of the fuel filter pointing upward. Screw the bottom fuel line on first, then tighten it with the 12-mm open end wrench. Turn the bottom fuel line clockwise to tighten. 9 Screw the top fuel line onto the fuel filter. Tighten the top fuel line with the 14-mm open end wrench. Step by Step : 10 Slide the battery in place and screw the battery cables back onto the battery. Tighten the battery cables down with an adjustable wrench. Screw the gas cap back onto the gas tank. Step by Step : 11 Crank the engine on the 1994 Mitsubishi Eclipse and inspect the fuel filter for leaks while the engine is running. Turn the engine off. Tips & Warnings No smoking around gas. Wear safety glasses around gas.
Scion . How to Replace the Fuel Filter on an ExpeditionReplacing the fuel filter on your Ford Expedition requires a special tool. This is necessary to disconnect the spring lock inside the line fitting. Other than that, you will need a few simple tools. When you are ready to install the new filter, park your Expedition in a well-ventilated area and away from appliances with open flames like dryers and water heaters. Fuel vapors emanating from the fuel system are highly combustible. Difficulty:Moderately Easy Instructions Things You'll Need Wrench Ratchet Socket Shop rag Small standard screwdriver Floor jack Jack stand Soft brush Fuel line disconnect tool 310-052 Standard screwdriverRelieve the Fuel System Pressure Step by Step : 1 Loosen the fuel filler cap. 2 Open the hood and separate the ground (black) battery cable from the battery post using a wrench. 3 Remove the fuel-supply manifold cover from the top of the engine using a ratchet and socket. 4 Locate the fuel pressure test port at the beginning of the fuel rail. The test port is a small valve, very similar to the air valve on your Explorer tires. 5 Unscrew the cap from the valve port and wrap a shop rag around the test port. 6 Depress the inside stem on the valve port using a small standard screwdriver. Make sure to catch the spray of fuel with the shop rag so that it does not splash on the exhaust manifold or other engine component that may reach a high temperature during engine operation. Remove the Fuel Filter Step by Step : 1 Lift the rear, driver-side tire and wheel assembly using a floor jack and support your SUV on a jack stand. 2 Locate the fuel filter mounted on the frame rail, in front of the fuel tank and attached to the fuel line. 3 Clean any dirt and grime from the line fittings and filter nipples using a soft brush and a shop rag. This will prevent contamination of the fuel system after you separate the fuel lines from the filter. 4 Wrap a shop rag around the line fitting you want to disconnect first from the filter. 5 Place the fuel line disconnect tool 310-052 between the filter and the fuel line fitting you will disconnect. Grab the filter with one hand as you push the tool against the line fitting to separate it from the filter. Use the shop rag to absorb the residual fuel that will come out of the line. 6 Disconnect the other fuel line from the filter using the fuel line disconnect tool 310-052 as you did in the previous step. 7 Loosen the fuel filter clamp with a standard screwdriver, slide the filter off the clamp and remove it from the vehicle. Install the New Fuel Filter Step by Step : 1 Slide the new fuel filter in the clamp with the arrow flow on the filter pointing to the fuel line going to the engine and tighten the filter clamp with the standard screwdriver. 2 Grab the filter with one hand and push one of the line fittings against its corresponding nipple on the filter. Slightly pull on the line fitting to make sure the fitting is locked in place. 3 Connect the other fuel line to the filter as you did on the previous step. 4 Lower your Expedition using the floor jack. 5 Tighten the fuel filler cap. 6 Attach the ground (black) battery cable to the battery post using the wrench. 7 Turn the ignition key to the "On" position to pressurize the fuel system and check for fuel leaks at the filter. Then turn the ignition key off. Ford F450 Super Duty Regular Cab & Chassis. * really very important because it can increase the life of your points. In the package with your new points, there may be a little capsule of cam lubricant. If there isn't any, you can buy a tube of it very cheaply. Then follow these steps: 1. Take a little bit of cam lubricant on your index finger and wipe it around the sides of the cam wheel (see Figure 12-31). Use the lubricant very sparingly. You don't want lumps, just a nice greasy finish on the cam wheel only. If you don't lubricate this wheel, your points could burn out very quickly. If you use too much, the stuff flies around inside the distributor when the wheel spins and fouls things up or causes your points to burn. Because your points open and close very fast (at around 12,000 times a minute when you drive a V-8 engine at 60 mph), you can see why the lubricant is necessary and why it tends to fly around if you're too generous. You want just enough to make your cam wheel lobes slide easily past the points. Figure 12-31: Place only a small amount of Scion .
